Back to School Sales, Discounts and Promotions from Major Retailers Help Consumers Save

Walmart among retailer offering back-to-school deals

As the final month of Summer begins, the hunt is on for the best savings with Back to School sales, discounts and promotions. In an effort to boost sales this year, many retailers are running online promotions which are tied to savings, discounts and coupons which can be used on in-store purchases.

The idea behind many of these online back-to-school discounts and sales promotions, is to draw consumers back into the stores where the opportunity for up-sell offers is higher. For consumers looking to save on Back to School shopping it is still a win-win situation.

Hoping to cash in on the estimated $84 Billion back-to-school shopping season, major retailers like Walmart, Target, Kmart and others already have discount promotions well underway. Walmart currently has an aisle of 88-cent Back to School deals on a variety of school supplies in there stores.

At Target, the company ran a two day online only sale which offered sale prices on clothing and electronics for back-to-school. Other in-store deals are reportedly upcoming.

Earlier this summer Toys r Us had run a promotion offering something of a trade-in on backpacks. Currently Staples is reportedly running a back-to-school deal allowing for an exchange on old binders. For recycling old binders, students receive $2 off the purchase of a new binder for the upcoming school year.
