CBS Will Wait for Sheen

In a statement released yesterday by CBS, executive producer Chuck Lorre said that the production team for the network’s hit show “Two and a Half Men” will wait for its top star. Actor Charlie Sheen, who plays the role of Charlie on the show, has reportedly entered rehab for drug and alcohol abuse.

The 45 year old actor is currently reported to be the highest paid television actor in the country with his estimated $27.5 million annual salary. But his personal life has been less than stellar. Sheen’s life off camera is a close parallel to his playboy character on camera.  Added to the mix of women in real life, however, are reports of booze and drug binges.

The show has been a huge success for CBS, so it comes as no surprise that they would be willing to wait for the actor to get better. “We are profoundly concerned for his health and well-being, and support his decision,” Lorre said in his statement. The location the rehabilitation center, and expected duration of Sheen’s stay, has not been released.
