According to reports, four cast members, along with the wife of another, from the hit TV show in the 1970’s, Happy Days, has filed a law suit agains CBS for $10 million. The suit aims to recover merchandising revenue to which the members believe they are entitled.

While CBS has admitted that they did owe the funds, because no one asked for them, they were never paid out. The 5 plaintiffs called this a “don’t ask, don’t pay” policy. The top two stars from the show, Ron Howard and Henry Winkler, were not among those filing the law suit.

The suit was filed by, Anson Williams (Potsie), Marion Ross (Mrs. C), Don Most (Ralph Malph), Erin Moran (Joanie) and Patricia Bosley (widow of the late Tom Bosley”Mr. Cunningham”). Some of the products, using cast member images for which royalties were never paid include lunch boxes, t-shirts, board games, and greeting cards.

In a statement from the consumer products unit of CBS, the company said, “We agree that funds are owed to the actors and have been working with them for quite some time to resolve the issue.”
