Currently, the astronauts are ahead of schedule in what was planned to be a 6 hour spacewalk to make repairs to replace a failed pump on the ISS. Because of the good progress made today, the decision has been made to extend the mission to 7 hours.

There has been great concern this week about the spacewalk after one astronaut nearly drowned in his space suit when it inexplicably filled with water during the last spacewalk.

Like something out of Hollywood, the astronaut was able to get back inside the ISS and remove his helmet just as the water was beginning to affect breathing.

The astronauts and mission control are closely monitoring each of the spacewalkers to spot any trouble and address it immediately.
