Earlier this week Boeing unveiled its newest aircraft, dubbed the Boeing 777X. The company also announced that it has received a record number of customer orders and commitments for its newest wide-body twin-aisle aircraft.

The 777X is based on the very popular 777 design which is a twin-engine, twin-aisle aircraft. The new 777X is the largest and most efficient twin-engine jet in the world. Two variants of the aircraft will have a capacity of 350 or 400 passengers.

The aircraft sports a folding raked wingtip and optimized span to deliver greater efficiency and significant fuel savings. The 777X utilizes 2 GE9X engines which are the most advanced, fuel-efficient commercial engine ever. These will allow for an incredible range of 9300 miles.

Boeing took the new comforts and conveniences of the 787 Dreamliner and included them to enhance the interior of the 777X. This will include larger windows, a wider cabin, new lighting and enhanced architecture.

Boeing indicated that its new 777X aircraft program already has a record-breaking 259 customer orders and commitments so far. This makes it the largest product launch in commercial jetliner history ranked by dollar value.
