Michael Strahan Delivers Keynote Speech

Last week the Doubletree-Hilton Resort Orlando at SeaWorld in Orlando, Florida was host to the SBN Sports 37th Annual Black College All-American Awards Weekend. The event was seen by the organization as an outstanding success.

Highlight of the event was the awards luncheon on February 12th, where the Keynote speaker was NFL great Michael Strahan. Strahan is currently a co-host on FOX NFL Sunday and was a member of the New York Giants team which won Super Bowl XLII.

The SBN Sports Network is a division of American Urban Radio Networks, the largest Black-owned radio network company in the country. The network has offices across the United States in the cities of New York, Washington, Chicago, Los Angeles, Atlanta, Detroit and Pittsburgh.

Several other NFL legends served as presenters. Among them were Hall of Famer Mel Blount, Super Bowl XXII MVP Doug Williams and Eddie Robinson Jr., the son of Grambling’s legendary coach Eddie Robinson.

“I am grateful to the past and present NFL pros who continue to support and give back to our All-Americans and high school football players we invite as our guests,” said Jerry Lopes, President of Program Operations and Affiliations. “They share their valuable experience on what it takes to not only be a successful football player, but a successful person,” said Lopes.

Members of the 2010 SBN All-American Team were each spotlighted with a highlight film in addition to receiving a signature SBN All-American Trophy. The honorees included Grambling State University Running back Frank Warren, Texas Southern University Linebacker DeJuan Fulghum, and Bethune Cookman University Head Coach Brian Jenkins.
