Ndamukong Suh - Pepsi NFL Rookie of the Year

After an internet poll of fans through NFL.com, Ndamukong Suh was determined to be the winner of the 2010 Pepsi NFL Rookie of the Year. Suh is the first defensive player to receive the award in its nine year history.

Detriot got the rookie in the second pick in the 2010 NFL draft. His five year contract is worth a guaranteed $40 million, with a maximum payout of $68 million. During his inaugural season, Suh made one interception, recovered a fumble and returned it for a touchdown, and recorded ten sacks on opposing quarterbacks.

Although Suh may have been selected number two in the draft, behind current Rams quarterback Sam Bradford, the tables were turned in the Rookie of the Year honors. For his rookie performance, the fans voted Bradford number two behind Suh.

The other finalists in the running for the Pepsi award were New England’s cornerback Devin McCourty, Tampa Bay receiver Mike Williams, and Cleveland Browns’ cornerback Joe Haden.
