Under Armour Signs Cam Newton

Sports apparel manufacturer Under Armour announced in a release today that it has signed Cam Newton to a multi-year endorsement deal. The dollar amount of the deal was not released as part of the announcement.

Cam Newton, former quarterback for the Auburn Tigers, winner of the 2010 Heisman Trophy, and leader of his BCS national championship team, will appear in the NFL Scouting Combine this week leading up to the NFL draft.

During the Combine, Newton will showcase Under Armour apparel including, Under Armour Coreshort, designed to deliver stability for the core muscle groups for more speed, power and precision and Under Armour E39, a compression shirt fitted with electronic touch-points that track biometric signals.

Baltimore, MD based Under Armour has become a leading manufacturer and marketer of sports apparel, footwear and accessories. Their products have become very popular and are worn by professional and amateur athletes across a variety of sports. Several NFL players have have recently signed with Under Armour, including Tom Brady, Miles Austin and Anquan Boldin.

Newton expressed his excitement about the new contract saying, “I have had great experience with Under Armour products during some very important events in my career, and I am looking forward to continuing my relationship with the Under Armour team as I prepare for the NFL.”
