While a rain storm may have spoiled play at the Arnold Palmer Bay Hill Invitational on Sunday, Monday was a very good day for Tiger Woods. Winning the tournament on Monday was a huge boost for Tiger Woods who has struggled in recent years.
Woods finished the Bay Hill tournament strong, just missing a 75+ foot putt for par by only about an inch. But with his two stroke lead, it was enough to win. His win at Bay Hill ties Tiger Woods with Sam Snead for a total of 8 wins at the Arnold Palmer Invitational.
For his win on Monday, Woods earned $1.116 million, a blue blazer, a victory handshake from a smiling Arnold Palmer, and perhaps best of all for Woods, he now takes over the number one world golf ranking from Rory McIlroy. It’s the first time Woods has held the title since October of 2010.
Woods led throughout the day, reminiscent of years past. Tiger has won 3 tournaments so far this year. Could he finally be back? Time will tell, but for now Woods is likely just enjoying the victory and the ranking.
