Josh Freeman ‘Flops’ for Vikings on Monday Night Football in Loss to Giants

Josh Freeman ‘Flops’ for Vikings on Monday Night Football in Loss to GiantsThe Minnesota Vikings undoubtedly had high hopes of rescuing their season when they made the decision to pick up quarterback Josh Freeman from Tampa Bay. But they may be regretting that choice after Freeman’s and the Vikings’ performance on Monday Night Football.

Considering that the Tampa Bay Buccaneers were willing to pay Freeman a reported $6 million remaining on his contract to make him go away, it was surprising to many Tampa Bay fans that another team would be so eager to pick him up.

Sports reports are calling Minnesota’s 23-7 loss to the New York Giants one of the worst prime time NFL games in recent years.

While opening against the lowest ranked defense in the NFL should have been a great opportunity for Freeman to make his debut with the Vikings, the Giants defense proved too much for Freeman – not allowing a single touchdown.

The Vikings were unable to take advantage of a number of opportunities presented to them by the Giants, only achieving 5 first downs during the first three quarters of play.

Freeman’s passing was inaccurate, as it has been all season with a completion record of only about 45 percent. On Monday night, Freeman completed little more than one-third of his passing attempts, often missing receivers by several yards or more.
