Aereo Online Streaming Television Service announces Android 4.1 Support

Aereo, the company making it possible for consumers to watch their favorite television programs live online – or record for later, has announced that in addition to other mobile platforms, their technology is now available for the Android 4.1 operating system devices.

Aereo uses a remote (cloud-based) antenna/DVR technology which makes recording and watching television online simple and user-friendly. Aereo’s technology works on ‘smart’ devices from tablets to phones to laptop computers. In addition to the new support for for Android, Aereo is currently supported on iPad, iPhone, iPod Touch, Chrome, Internet Explorer 9, Firefox, Safari, Opera, AppleTV (via airplay) and Roku platforms.

The Aereo online streaming television service is currently available to consumers residing in the metropolitan areas surrounding: New York City, Boston, Atlanta, Salt Lake City, Miami, Houston, Dallas, Detroit and Denver. The company offers a variety of programming plans beginning as low as $8 per month – which includes access to Aereo’s cloud-based antenna/DVR technology and 20 hours of DVR storage. The company is currently offering consumers who join Aereo their first of month of access for free.
