Angry Birds Space Downloads Top 10 Million in 3 Days – Popular App Now Available

We announced in some earlier articles that the developer of one of the most popular game apps of all time, Angry Birds by Rovio, was set to release a new version titled Angry Birds Space this month. Now we can report that in just the first few days since the release, the Angry Birds Space app has been downloaded by more than 10 million users.

As we reported in an article on March 10, the Angry Birds Space game was a joint effort between game developer Rovio and NASA, which praised the physics educational benefits of the game. International Space Station (ISS) Flight Engineer Don Pettit of NASA even created a video from the ISS using Angry Birds Space to explain how physics works in space. According to reports, the March 22nd release of Angry Birds Space features 60 initial levels and six new characters. Rovio says that the microgravity environment in which the new game is played creates a “unique twist in a variable gravity environment”.

The video game has been released across all major platforms including Android, Apple iOS for iPhone and iPad, as well as PC and MAC platforms. The Angry Birds Space app download numbers are impressive and could be on pace to surpass the original game which, just months ago, became the first video game to reach half a billion downloads.
