Apple has just announced a major press event for next week on the 12th of September and all indications are pointing to the long awaited release of the iPhone 5. Another signal that the press event next week will unveil the iPhone 5 is an image of the date in which the shadow of the number 12 creates a 5.
Also reportedly coming from Apple in time for the holidays this year is a slightly smaller version of the iPad. The smaller iPad is aimed to more closely compete with popular ereaders like the Kindle Fire and the Nook. The mini iPad has a price point closer to the others at about $199 versus the standard iPad at $400+. While the mini iPad will not reportedly feature the retina display of its big brother iPad, it does have most of the same features in a smaller profile.
On a related note, Amazon has announced that it will soon be releasing its newest version of the Kindle Fire. Nokia is expected release a new flagship Windows phone Wednesday, the Nokia Lumia 900, that runs the latest Windows Phone 8 software.
