With less than a week to go before the final launch of any Space Shuttle in the NASA fleet, Space Shuttle Atlantis stands ready on the launch pad at the Kennedy Space Center to make history. In addition to NASA TV, viewers around the world can watch the space shuttle launch live with streaming video via the internet.

Watch here Live Streaming HD video of Space Shuttle Launch and Coverage of Atlantis final mission STS-135:

The final voyage of Atlantis on mission STS-135 is scheduled to lift-off from pad 39A at KSC on Friday July 8th. The launch is scheduled for 11:26 AM Eastern time. During the 12 day mission Atlantis will carry the Raffaello multipurpose logistics module which contains supplies and spare parts for the International Space Station (ISS).

The small 4-person crew for this final Space Shuttle mission will be led by Commander Chris Ferguson and will also include Pilot Doug Hurley, and Mission Specialists Sandy Magnus and Rex Walheim.

As of today the technicians at KSCexpect to complete work to close out space shuttle Atlantis’ aft section. The teams, which have the July 4th holiday weekend off, are not reporting any issues which would prevent the start of the launch countdown at 1 p.m. EDT on Tuesday, July 5, making way for an on-time launch at the end of the week.

In something of a patriotic show, the Shuttle Atlantis crew is set to arrive at Kennedy’s Shuttle Landing Facility at approximately 2:45 p.m. on the 4th of July.
