Cain Velasquez vs Junior Dos Santos Match Crowns New UFC Champion during Premier of UFC on Fox

Dos Santos wins by Knock Out in first round over Velasquez.

Tonight was the debut of the UFC on Fox, and was billed to be a spectacular Heavyweight Championship fight, but the bout was over almost before it started.

At just 1 minute and 4 seconds into the first round of the Cain Velasquez vs Junior Dos Santos championship bout, the battle was over. After a right punch by Dos Santos to the left temple and ear of Velasquez, the reining heavyweight champion went down hard.

Dos Santos wasted no time jumping on top of Velasquez, who was practically helpless and clearly disoriented on the ground. After several more punches to Cain’s head, referee John McCarthy pushed Dos Santos off of the top of Velasquez, who was lying face down, and stopped the fight.

After the fight a very humble and teary eyed Junior Dos Santos was crowned the new UFC Heavyweight Champion. After tipping his hat to Dos Santos for a strong punch and a good fight, Velasquez apologized to his fans and supporters and vowed to return to championship form and reclaim his title and his championship belt.
