In an unexpected and unexplained move around 9:30 AM on Saturday, Judge Belvin Perry placed the Casey Anthony trial in recess until Monday morning at 8:30. The judge was not specific in the reason for the sudden recess, saying only that there were some legal issues to be worked out.

The recess came before the jury had entered the court room for the day. The sudden break in the proceedings comes at the end of a week which started with threats from the judge to lengthen the court days and hold full sessions on Saturdays in an effort to move the trial along. The judge sternly warned the legal teams on both sides to “act professionally” and not to cause any further delays.

The sudden and unexplained recess on Saturday has led many in the media to speculate about the reason. Some voiced an unlikely opinion of a last minute plea deal or witness tampering, while others feel more confident that the issues are related to witness testimony and/or evidence not properly shared. The latter issues, if serious enough, could lead to a mistrial and even the possibility of Casey Anthony being able to “walk free” on a legal technicality.

The proceeding will continue on Monday at 8:30 when viewers will find out the answers.

Live Internet Streaming Video Broadcast of the Casey Anthony trial proceedings take place Monday-Saturday from about 8:30AM to 5PM Eastern Time, with a break for lunch from 12-1:30. Video Coverage Continues Today – Watch Casey Anthony Trial Live Here:
