Cindy Anthony Says She Searched for Chloroform and Chlorophyll During Casey Anthony Trial: Did She Commit Purjury

In a bombshell, as the defense presented its case to save Casey Anthony today, Casey’s mother Cindy Anthony said that she was the one who performed the internet searches for Chloroform on the home computer.

A major piece of the circumstantial evidence against Casey has been the combination of the trace evidence of chloroform in the trunk and internet searches made on the family computer for chloroform among other things. The prosecution, and everyone else, has assumed that Casey was the most likely person to have made the searches.

Today, however, during her testimony as a witness called by the defense, Cindy Anthony dropped a bomb in the courtroom when she said that it was her who performed the searches for chloroform. Cindy said that she was searching for chlorophyll and also typed the word chloroform during her search.

On cross examination, the prosecution asked Cindy if she specifically typed the words “how to make chloroform” in the internet search. A question showing that the prosecution believes that Cindy is very likely lying in an attempt to save her daughter from a potential death penalty. In response to the question, Cindy Anthony said that she could not recall.

Broadcast of the trial proceedings take place Monday-Saturday from about 9AM to 5PM Eastern Time, with a break for lunch from 12-1:30. Video Coverage Continues Today – Watch Casey Anthony Trial Live Here:
