Computer Phone Hybrid Unveiled at CES

Viewsonic Tablet PC

Viewsonic Tablet PC

The 2010 International Consumer Electronics Show (CES), in Las Vegas, will be the backdrop for the unveiling of a tablet computer with phone functionality from ViewSonic Corporaton. The hand held device will reportedly support operation of next-generation 4G wireless networks, boasts a four inch display and will be powered by the Andriod OS from Google.

The hand held is not too much of a leap for ViewSonic as they already have the ViewPad 7, a 7 inch tablet PC, on store shelves and has announced that a 10 inch version is coming soon. The new larger tablet, much like the 4 inch hand held will also support the Andriod system.

Like many companies, ViewSonic has shrunk their tablets and added phone and 4G capabilities in an effort to compete with Apple and other manufacturers who are eager to get in on the exploding market for mobile computing and communication hybrid devices.
