Consumers Can Watch Best Super Bowl Commercials and Ads Online through Several Mobile Apps and Social Media and Other SourcesAs we first noted last year, the number of people watching Superbowl ads continues to grow year after year. However, the increase in the number of people watching superbowl ads does not necessarily match the number watching the game itself. According to information from the University of Texas at Dallas, the increase in people watching superbowl commercials has grown because of the increasing ease with which people can watch the 2013 superbowl ads and commercials online.

Released weeks ahead of the game, online superbowl ad and commercial previews have begun to generate an increasing buss about the upcoming superbowl commercials which will air during Sunday’s game, and air online after. Taking advantage of the ever growing power of the internet, advertisers are hoping to cash in on the power of mobile apps, mobile connectivity and social media.

According to the University of Texas at Dallas statement, “Taking advantage of the growing trend, this year’s ads are using a variety of tools that go far beyond the traditional TV commercial,” said Abhi Biswas, a UT Dallas marketing professor in the Naveen Jindal School of Management.

“The Super Bowl is the one time of the year, the one event where most viewers embrace the commercials,” Biswas said. “Studies show people are actually taking their breaks during the game so they can come back, grab a seat on the couch and watch the ads.”

Companies are using social media and targeted marketing to whet the public’s appetite for game-day ads.

“One of the newest methods is something called second-screen advertising,” Biswas said. “They are trying to entice consumers to use their laptops or cellphones and interact more with the ads by encouraging them to download apps and visit the company’s website.”
