Watch Live: Coverage Set for Next International Space Station Crew Launch

This weekend NASA will be sending its next group of crew members to the International Space Station (ISS). Coverage of the rocket launch from the Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan will be carried live via NASA Television and internet video stream (on this page below).

Onboard the Soyuz spacecraft will be NASA Flight Engineer Sunita Williams, veteran Soyuz Commander Yuri Malenchenko of the Russian Federal Space Agency and Flight Engineer Akihiko Hoshide of the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency. The three astronauts are scheduled to dock with the ISS on Monday July 16 where they will join with the current crew members of the Expedition 32 team.

Those members include NASA Flight Engineer Joe Acaba and two Russian cosmonauts, Commander Gennady Padalka and Flight Engineer Sergei Revin, who have been aboard the orbiting laboratory since mid-May.

Live coverage of the launch will include extensive pre-launch preparation. The launch of the Soyuz TMA-05M itself is scheduled to take place at 9:40 p.m. CDT, Saturday, July 14. Coverage of the mission will include Soyuz prelaunch, launch and docking coverage.
