– Producer/ Writer/ Actor Datari Turner and actress Meagan Good have just wrapped production on the independent film Video Girl. Video Girl, about a former ballet dancer who rises to fame by dancing in Hip Hop music videos is slated to be released sometime in 2011. Turner wrote the screenplay and produced the film along with Good and Dan Garcia. The film was shot in New Orleans, Louisiana and stars Academy Award Nominee Ruby Dee (American Gangster), Haylie Duff, Adam Senn, and Meagan Good who plays Lorie. The character which the movie is centered around.
“If I were to describe this film, I would say it’s Gia meets Factory Girl.” “This is an art house movie with mainstream appeal” Says Turner.
Recording artists Juelz Santana, Bun B of the legendary Rap group UGK, Bobby Valentino, Young Joc, Hoobastank, and Angie Martinez also make appearances in the movie and were featured in music videos shot exclusively for the film directed by Ty Hodges (Miles From Home).
