Results from Survey conducted by consumer shopping authority web site, NerdWallet, indicates that shoppers the day after Christmas should expect to find 50% off discounts and sale prices at most national retailers.
The results of the survey are based on a study of 117 day after Christmas deals and sales at major national retailers going as far back as 2009. The team found that “68% of retailers offered at least one discount on at least one major item category that met or exceeded 50% off.” Among some of the most consistent retailers for shopping discounts on the day after Christmas, known in many areas of Europe, the U.K. and Canada as Boxing Day, were retailers such as Bloomingdales, Kohl’s and Toy’s R Us.
Among the top items typically seeing the best discounts in the Day after Christmas Day sales are clothing, toys, handbags and shoes according to the survey data. NerdWallet reports that retailers usually steeply discount these items the day after Christmas.
