Yesterday the prosecution had their opportunity to present closing arguments, and now the Defense is offering closing arguments in the George Zimmerman trial. As Mark O’meara presents the defense’s closing, viewers continue to watch live streaming video online and on live television broadcasts from HLN and CNN and local media sources.
Once the defense finishes its closing today, the state prosecutors will have about a 15 minute rebuttal opportunity available. This is likely to take place after lunch, based on the pace in the courtroom so far. Later this afternoon, the jury will likely receive its final instructions from the court and begin its deliberation, to render a verdict.

In addition to continuous coverage in the local central Florida market from local news television stations, both CNN and HLN news networks have been providing live trial video coverage. Live online video streaming of Zimmerman trial has also continued throughout.
Most experts believe that the prosecution has not yet proved a case for the charge of 2nd degree murder. However, the state was able to convince the judge to allow the jury to consider a lesser charge of manslaughter when they begin deliberation. This is a win for the state prosecutors, and was argued as unfair by the Zimmerman defense team.
Later, today the jury will take all of the information, including that gathered in closing arguments today, and begin to decide the guilt or innocence of George Zimmerman. While it appears likely that jury will begin deliberation at the end of the day, it is not likely that they will have a verdict until after the weekend. Either way, the live video streaming of online and television coverage will broadcast the jury’s decision.
