So far there have been no reported injuries after an Delta Connections airplane, flown by Endeavor Air (formerly known as Pinnacle Airlines), skidded off of a runway due to the ice and snow at JFK on Sunday.
For a time, the authorities had to close the JFK airport to deals with the Delta Airlines flight.
It was Delta Connections Flight 4100, which departed from Toronto earlier Sunday morning before a slippery landing on the Runway in JFK just before 8 a.m Sunday.
“As the aircraft was exiting the runway onto a taxiway, it slid into the snow,” said FAA spokeswoman Kathleen Bergen. “No injuries were reported to the FAA. The FAA is investigating.”
According to reports, the Aircraft, a CRJ (regional aircraft) had 35 passengers on board and the time of the incident.
To get the plane and its passengers into the warmth and safety of the terminal, rescuers had to shovel snow away from around the plane’s wheels. The aircraft was then moved to the terminal by a tug.
