DirecTV subscribers will get the chance to watch new movies even sooner thanks to a new service being unveiled this week. Starting tommorrow, DirecTV (direct tv) will offer its new premium Video on Demand service called Home Premier.
The first movie offered via the new VOD service is the new Adam Sandler film, Just go With It, which stars Sandler and Jennifer Anniston. Under the new Home Premier VOD service, subscribers will be albe to purchase a new release for a 48 hour period for $29.95.
The next films upcoming on the services will be Hall Pass, The Adjustment Bureau and Cedar Rapids.
To access the VOD content, subscribers will need an HD/DVR receiver box. To date the company estimates that less than half of its 19 million subscribers have the necessary equipment. As more and more people upgrade to HD television sets, the company expects to see its subscribers follow suit with upgrades to their satellite equipment.
