With the holidays upon us, internet searches for free interactive online Christmas ecards are on the rise. In response a number of online, and traditional holiday greeting card manufacturers, are making a wide array of free Christmas and holiday e-cards available online for consumers.
The trend toward online ecards has seen continued growth. The situation has been a win-win for consumers as well as greeting card manufacturers. While more and more people send the free holiday ecards online for Christmas, New-years and other holidays, statistics show that they are doing so in addition to traditional paper cards purchased in-store and online.
Taking advantage of the trend, manufacturers use the free online ecards as a way to market other cards, gifts and services to holiday shoppers. While many enjoy sending a free Christmas e-card online, to send holiday and New Years wishes to more friends than usual, because it is less expensive, another attractive part is that the online e-cards are more customizable and often humorous.
Although the free online ecards themselves do not generate revenue for manufacturers, they provide an opportunity to engage consumers, and top online ecards which go “viral” can drive vast amounts of potential customers to their sites.
