Garrett Reid, Son of Eagles Coach Andy Reid Found Dead in DormIn something of a bombshell today, it was announced that Garrett Reid, the son of the Philadelphia Eagles head coach Andy Reid has died. Garrett Reid was reportedly found dead in a dorm room at the Eagle’s training camp on Sunday night. The cause of death is still unknown.

Garrett Reid was 29-years old and had in the past had some issues with drug use, and even spent time in jail for a car crash caused by drug use. Police are not saying if the death was drug related. According to reports, local police are not calling the death suspicious, and are investigating the cause.

The Eagles are scheduled to play a pre-season game on Thursday, but there is no work on whether Andy Reid will attend the game. Reid understandably was reportedly not at practice today. In a press conference the Eagle’s team owner Jeffrey Lurie fought back tears as did general manager Howie Roseman who actually broke down delivering the news of Reid’s death.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Broomall, Pa. Tuesday is a scheduled day off from camp, so the team will be in attendance.
