At the end of the week, the defense for George Zimmerman started to draw attention to what many are calling a weak case for the prosecution against Zimmerman. Not even waiting for trial, the Mark O’Mara questioned state investigators on the stand during the bond hearing which could be watched live via television and the internet.

On trial for the February 26th murder of teenager Trayvon Martin, Zimmerman’s bond was set at $150,000 on Friday after a highly publicized hearing. The prosecution was seeking a $1 million bond for Zimmerman who is facing second degree murder charges, and has pleaded not guilty claiming self defense.

The upcoming trial is expected to be carried live, and our readers will be able to watch the George Zimmerman – Trayvon Martin trial via live streaming internet video here when it begins.

With the release of some pictures of a bloody head of Zimmerman taken just after the shooting, the defense’s self defense case is appearing much stronger to may legal experts. As occurred in the Casey Anthony Trial, many are beginning to feel that the second degree murder charge is going to be too hard to prove based on the evidence, and that a lesser manslaughter charge may have been more attainable.

During the bond hearing, Zimmerman addressed the family of Martin for the first time since the shooting. “I am sorry for the loss of your son,” Zimmerman said. In his statement Zimmerman also said, “I did not know how old he was. I thought he was a little bit younger than I am. I did not know if he was armed or not.” However in the 911 recordings, when asked about Martin’s age by the 911 operator, Zimmerman told her that he thought Martin was in his upper teens.
