53rd Grammy Awards
Rapper/singer Eminem is one of many artists expected to come away with awards in the 53rd annual showing of the Grammys on Wednesday night. In something of a comeback, Eminem has 10 award nominations. CBS will air the show live from Club Nokia in downtown L.A.
Also expected to make an acceptance speech during the awards are some relative new comers such a Lady Antebellum and Bruno Mars who have both had very strong record sales and air play this year.
It’s a very diverse mix of artists which have received nominations this year, in what is likely a very smart business strategy by the music industry. The spectrum this year includes an independent group of rockers from Canada, “The Suburbs”. Newer, younger astists like Justin Bieber draw an younger audience to the viewership, while others like Eminen appeal to a slighty older demographic. Besides, everybody loves a comeback.
