A live theatrical procuction of the comic book legend and blockbuster movie phenominon has been trouble by a series of injuries since rehersals began. The show, which, at over sixty million dollars, will be the most expensive broadway production to date, is currently under investigation by OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) and the state Department of Labor.

The investigation comes as the result several injuries, the most recent being a lead actress, Natalie Mendoza. Mendoza, who played Arachne, is currently out of the production due to a concussion suffered backstage when a she was hit in the head by a weighted rope. Two performances were cancelled last week when OSHA officials insisted that some added safety protocols be put into place.

The show requires many of the actors to hang upside down or fly about the theater from tethers. As a result the danger level for the cast is on par with the above average cost. In what was the fourth injury of a cast member, actor Christopher Tierney fell more than twenty feet when a teather which should have protected him was not attached properly. The actor left the show in and ambulance and was take to the hospital where he was treated for several broken ribs along with other internal injuries.
