According to a report from the USA Today, iPhone users anxiously awaiting the release of the new iPhone in September, may be able to trade in their old iPhone and get the new one at an Apple store near them.
The report, based on market analysts, indicates that Apple will be launching an in-store iPhone buyback option at its 250 retail stores. The trade-in buyback offer from Apple is set to coincide with the release of the newest iPhone next month.
Major retailers, including Best Buy and RadioShack, have been offering buyback programs on iPhones and other electronics for some time now. Apple appears to be taking a lesson from these retailers, taking advantage of another reason to bring traffic into their product stores.
Up to now, Apple has only offered its customers the option to turn their old phones in to the company as part of their Recycle program, so most users turned to retailers or online sites like Gazelle or eBay to sell their old iPhones.
The release date and unveiling of the newest iPhone is currently expected on September 10, 2013 at an Apple event.
