Rangers' Josh Hamilton Breaks Arm Tuesday Night

Josh Hamilton, American League MVP from the Texas Rangers reportedly broke his arm during the Rangers’ game tonight against the Detroit Tigers. Adding insult to injury, the Rangers lost the game to Detroit 5 to 4.

This will make the third time in as many seasons that Hamilton will be out with an injury. Hamilton will likely be out for about 8 weeks with the injury which occurred while he was trying to score from third on a pop fly. Hamilton was sliding head first into home plate when he broke his arm.

According to a quote from the Rangers web site, Hamilton said that his dive was “a stupid play. I definitely shouldn’t have gone. I was thinking, ‘I don’t want to do this. Something is going to happen.’ I listened to my coach.”

Hamilton will be greatly missed by last year’s World Series team after his performance last season including 100 RBI’s and 32 home runs.
