The sales numbers are coming in after the biggest shopping weekend of the year, combining Black Friday and Cyber Monday. According to reports, one of the biggest winners, and hottest items has been the Amazon Kindle HD. In fact, Amazon reported that its $129 Kindle Fire deal was its biggest Cyber Monday deal in its history.
The good news for shoppers this week is that, along with some other retailers, Amazon.com has extended their sale calling this week Cyber Week, and is continuing discounts and sales on the Kindle Fire HD and other popular e-readers and tablets.
The complete line of Amazon tablet readers includes the basic $69 Kindle e-reader, $119 Kindle Paperwhite e-reader, $179 Paperwhite 3G, $159 Kindle Fire tablet, $199 Fire HD 7-inch tablet, $299 Kindle Fire HD 8.9-inch tablet, $499 Kindle Fire HD 8.9-inch tablet with 4G.
Kindle has been Amazon’s combatant to the Apple iPad. While tech buffs will tell why the iPad is a more robust tablet, for the general user wanting access to android apps, ebooks, music, video, etc, the Kindle Fire has essentially the same functionality for a lower price. So far, it is a sales strategy that appears to be working for Amazon.com.
