Lindsey Vonn Wins Second Race

Defending World Cup champion Lindsey Vonn turned in the fastest time in the Super-G and then the seventh fastest time in the slalom on Sunday. Her combined time of 2 minutes and 7.8 seconds was enough to secure the win in the super combined for Vonn in Sunday’s World Cup competition.

The top section of the Super-G course proved to be challenging for several competitors and even Vonn looked to be in a bit of trouble coming through some of the early gates. But in the end Vonn was able to get straightened out and press on through the course.

After the race Vonn said, “I was a little bit more cautious on the top part of the course, but as soon as I got on the flats then I really tried to push the limits and go faster.”

This was the second straight win for Vonn at the games who had just won the downhill the day before. In addition to her wins, Lindsey Vonn was also chosen by the AP as 2010 Female Athlete of the Year.
