The latest part of the defense strategy for Arias in court today involved some expert testimony trying to explain why Arias can’t remember the moments after she killed Travis Alexander.
While Jodi Arias seems to have an excellent memory regarding most issues of the case, she claims to have amnesia when it comes to answering the prosecution’s and the jury’s questions related to her actions in the hours immediately after the murder. Arias claims to have no memory of stabbing Alexander some 27 times, or moving his body into the shower.
An expert witness for the defense now claims that Arias has lost her memory due to the PTSD (post-traumatic stress disorder) brought on by the struggle and killing of Alexander. Whether the jury will believe the recent attempt by the defense to avoid the death penalty for Arias remains to be seen.
Jodi Arias is currently several weeks into her trial on murder charges for the death of her ex-boyfriend Travis Alexander in 2008. Jodi Arias maintains that she acted in self-defense when she shot, and then repeatedly stabbed Alexander in a manner described by experts as a ‘frenzy.’
