In a press release this week, Logitech announced the launch of portable videoconference platform. Dubbed the Logitech® ConferenceCam Connect, the device is a portable all-in-one solution perfect for mobile video conference needs in small and medium sized rooms.
According to the company, the ConferenceCam works with any computing device with a USB connection, compatible with both Mac and PC computers, and with virtually any videoconferencing software. The small portable design allows the platform to be easily moved from room to room.
“For about the cost of an office chair, businesses of all sizes can now afford to quickly connect with customers, vendors and remote employees anytime and anywhere with the Logitech ConferenceCam Connect,” said Jason Moss, general manager of the Collaboration Group at Logitech.
“We believe there is simply no workspace that should not have videoconferencing capability, and the ConferenceCam allows us to connect to meetings no matter where we are.”
Specifications of the ConferenceCam include a 90-degree field of view with digital pan and tilt, mechanical tilt control, 4x digital Full HD zoom, and ZEISS® optics with autofocus.
The speakerphone supports both mobile and USB audio calling with features such as Bluetooth® wireless technology, near field communication and a USB port. With 360-degree sound, users can hear and be heard within a 12-foot diameter range while full duplex sound, acoustic echo and noise-cancelling technology delivers conversational realism.
The company expects the device to be available worldwide in March 2015 at a suggested price of $499.
