Leaderboard:
Tied with K.J. Choi, Woods and Choi will play the third round together tomorrow. Rory McIlory was at the top of the leaderboard today with a 10 under par 134 for a day two total score. In second place is Jason Day at 8 under with 136. Rounding out the top five, going into day three is Geoff Ogilvy.
After starting out a little flat, Woods came on strong with several birdie runs on 8,9, and 10, then again on 13,14, and 15. Finishing strong, wood capped off his run at the lead by sinking a 12 footer on 18 for another birdie.
“I played myself right back in the championship,” said Woods, who has won four Masters but none since 2005. “It’s going to be fun.” The play was reminiscent of Tiger’s championship rounds in years past. After fighting into a position closer to the lead than Tiger has been in a major in the last couple years with a 6 under par 66, the next two days should be worth watching.
