Two years after his death, King of Pop singer, Michael Jackson is still earning millions. According to the records, made public as part of Jackson’s probate estate proceedings, some $310 million in revenue has been generated by the performer’s estate since his death.
Part of the money has come from the movie “This is It” which chronicled Jackson’s final days in preparation for what would have been his comeback tour. Some money is from the sales of the album “Michael” which is a compilation of previously unreleased songs that the singer was developing before his death.
At the time of his death, Jackson was about $400 million in debt, and part of the recent revenue has been used to pay some of that debt. Money has also gone to the pop-star’s children and his mother who cares for the children.
With Jackson’s “Thirller” album, released 29 years ago, still at the top as best-selling album of all time, analysts predict that his estate should continue see significant revenue for years to come.
