MTV Movie Awards Tonight Hosted by SNL's Jason Sudeikis
The annual event will be broadcast live tonight at 9PM ET on MTV. As with most live shows in recent years, anything is liable to happen. For the winners of the various categories, the trophy is a popcorn bucket.
While the event does not perhaps carry the same weight among the actors as the Oscars, the marketing arms of the various studios know the true importance of the night – their specific demographic audience. For some films there could be no better audience to cater to.
I many ways, in additional a celebration, tonight is a massive marketing opportunity for upcoming films and actors. Expected tonight in addition to the awards will be some sneek peeks at upcoming films very popular among the MTV crowd.
Tonight’s MTV Movie Awards will offer the first sneak peek of footage from “Twilight: Breaking Dawn Part 1” and will be introduced tonight by Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner.
Other notable upcoming films for the summer which will get a boost tonight are “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows — Part 2,” and J.J. Abrams’s “Super 8” will be shown as well.
