NBA Denver Nuggets Player Chris "Birdman" Andersen’s Home Searched by Child Crimes Unit of Sheriff’s OfficeReports are circulating in the media indicating that NBA player and center for the Denver Nuggets, Chris “Birdman” Andersen is under investigation on charges related to child pornography commonly referred to as Kiddie-porn.

According to reports from ABC news, a raid on the home of Chris Anderson was performed by detectives in the Internet Crimes Against Children unit of the Douglas County, Colorado, sheriff’s office yesterday. The unit of the Sheriffs department is responsible for handling crimes which include child pornography, child prostitution and other sex related crimes against children.

The report indicates that the computer of the Denver Nuggets star player was seized along with other items and taken in for further analysis as part of the investigation. The reports indicate that the FBI is involved in the investigation along with the local authorities.

The search of “Birdman” Anderson’s home was the culmination of a three month investigation which began back in February when the child crimes unit received a tip from California law enforcement, according to the Colorado Sheriff’s department.

While the police indicated that Anderson was at home and was cooperative during the raid, they would not comment on the specific charges pending or the exact nature of the investigation.

In a statement from the Denver Nuggets, team officials said, “Chris has been excused from all team-related activities indefinitely as he deals with the reported investigation. Per team policy, the Nuggets will not comment on any ongoing legal circumstance involving any player or employee.”
