NFL Lockout Expect to End Soon

For NFL fans there appears to be light at the end of the tunnel at last. According to reports, the NFL lockout should soon be over. Players should are expected to be able to vote on the new terms which could soon clear the way to the 2011 NFL season.

The players and the owners have apparently come to terms acceptable to both sides when it comes to how they will share in the billions of dollars in revenue generates by the league each year. Players are expected to get a look at the new CBA (collective bargaining agreement) which has been agreed to by the players union and the owners later today.

If the players like what they see, they can hold a vote. If the vote passes, the NFL training camps could be open by sometime next week. The pre-season for the NFL, based on this, could actually happen on time.

One casualty, already identified by NFL commissioner Roger Goodell, is the “Hall of Fame Game” between the Bears and the Rams. The pre-season game, played at the NFL Hall of Fame in Canton OH will not be played, according to the commissioner, even if the players sign off right away. The game would be less than 2 weeks away and according to the league, it would not leave enough time.
