Out of concern for the safety for Fans traveling to and from Sunday night’s scheduled game between the Philadelphia Eagles host the Minnesota Vikings, the game was postponed and will now be played on Tuesday night. NBC will still air the game on what will now be a Tuesday edition of its Sunday Night Football program.
Many, including Pennsylvania Governor Ed Rendell were not happy with the decision to postpone the game. “This is football. Football’s played in bad weather. I think the fans would have gotten there. … You play football regardless of the weather”, said Rendell.
While players for the Vikings are currently out of luck for any playoffs this season, based on their 5-9 record, they will at least have a chance now to make NFL history. Along with players from Philadelphia, the Minnesota team will play in what will be the first NFL game played on a Tuesday since 1946.
