Royal Wedding Commerative Coin and Ring

Royal Wedding Commerative Coin and Engagement Ring

With the events leading up to the Royal Wedding between Prince William and now Princess Kate behind us, the media has moved on to other stories. From many however, the royal wedding is still fresh on the mind and manufacturers are eager to cash in on the excitement and the pageantry of the Royal Wedding.

A Royal Wedding commemorative coin has been released by the Buckingham Mint and marketed as the Official Royal Wedding Coin. The inch and a half diameter coin is layered in gold and features His Royal Highness Prince William of Wales and Miss Catherine Middleton on the front, and the Coat of Arms that Prince Williams received on his eighteenth birthday on the reverse side.

Another Royal Wedding collectible released, and in high demand leading up to the wedding, is a replica of the engagement ring which William gave to Kate. The royal engagement ring was the same engagement ring which William’s father, Prince Charles, had given to Princess Diana when they were engaged.

Obviously the diamonds in the replica ring, marketed as the Royal Heirloom Ring by Sterling Collections, are CZ in order to keep the price affordable as a keepsake. Originally priced at $119, both the ring and the coin keepsakes are now priced below $20 each. In addition to the faux diamonds, the ring features a simulated “Ceylon” sapphire set in silver plate.

Both collectibles are certified authentic and available in limited quantities. The companies are limiting orders to only one of each item per household in order to meet the demand. The demand has been high and both companies have indicated that the supplies are very limited.
