As thousands descend on Park City Utah in time for the Sundance Film Festival, and a week of activities and entertainment, a well-known Park City venue, The Star Bar has announced a grand re-opening. Re-opening next week under completely new ownership and with a full musical line-up for the 2013 Sundance Film Festival, the New Star Bar will feature a number of headlining musical acts including One Republic.
Music fans can visit the 6000 square-foot Star Bar located at the top of historic Main Street on 1/18/13 to see One Republic in concert with Matt Facciolla Band and Davina Leone. The New Star Bar has been completely remodeled and redesigned making it a modern upscale nightclub experience drawing national and international artists.
“The Star Bar is thrilled to offer the best JBL sound system in the state,” said Bill Johnson, one of the venue’s operators. “Our patrons will be pleasantly blown away by the complete remodel of the new Star Bar,” he added. Johnson says The Star Bar will fill the void that has long existed on Main Street for quality, live music in a more intimate environment with a capacity of just over 500.
The January line-up launches on the 17th during the 2013 Sundance Film Festival next week featuring big-name acts such as One-Republic, Matishayu, Paul Oakenfold and the highly anticipated solo performance of Academy Award Nominee Courtney Love.

The main floor has been dropped by more than 2 feet using the original floor, which had been buried since 1997. The lowered floor has created additional room volume and has added to the overall sound experience. Guests will enjoy two four-station bars, a new main stage, state of the art lighting and completely remodeled bathrooms and green room.
