Online Educational Site Combines Math and Science Learning with Video Gaming to Improve Students Grades and Test Scores

Online Educational Site Combines Math and Science Learning with Video Gaming to Improve Students Grades and Test ScoresDo you have a child who struggles with Math or Science topics, or one who would like to improve their skills? Chances are, based on the rankings of American children’s test scores, you are not alone. One company aims to help children improve in math and science by combining education with online video games.

Known as Uzinggo (http://www.uzinggo.com), the online site and its software, “combines elements of online gaming with the latest educational instruction standards, and real life examples to help students succeed. Students are motivated to learn by earning points for completing lessons and performing well on evaluations that can be cashed in for prizes,” according to the developers of Uzinggo.

All across America, classroom overcrowding and reduced educational budgets are having a negative impact on the education of the nation’s children. Teachers struggle to get enough time to help students, one-on-one, who really need the extra attention. At the same time, students who are more advanced, and need to be challenged, are often slowed and forced to learn at a pace more in line with the class average.

Through their online educational software, the developers of Uzinggo, are trying to bridge the gap. Their hope is that to provide extra guidance and practice for students struggling to master math and science concepts in class. For more advanced students, the site aims to spur on their desire to learn and challenge them in a fun, interactive environment.

To help parents monitor and track the progress of their children, Uzinggo allows parents to log in to view how much time their child is spending on a topic. Parents have the ability to see their child’s performance on evaluations and also print out extra evaluations they can do with their child offline.
