With Christmas Eve upon us, many are looking for Santa Claus with online Santa Tracking web sites. Top on the list of tracking Santa Claus is NORAD. The agency has been tracking and reporting on the location of Santa since 1955.
As we reported earlier in the week, NORAD has really pulled out all the stop this year with a fully revamped Santa Tracking web site. New features have been added which include videos, games and detailed information of Santa and his sleigh.
Most importantly, especially as children head off to bed tonight, is the current location of Santa Claus as he begins the ride around the world.
While the new web site is impressive, it is of course the technology behind it that makes this tracking so accurate. Normally responsible for tracking missiles, spacecraft and fast moving aircraft which could threaten North America – for one night each year on December 24th, NORAD puts its world class radar and satellite technology into action to locate Santa’s position and track his flights.
Using the NORAD Santa tracker parents and children can watch video surveillance captured from satellites which clearly show Santa, and his reindeer, in action at many locations across the globe. The NORAD online Santa Tracker locator can be found at http://www.noradsanta.org/.
