OpenSky Expecting big results from Cyber Monday 2011 Deals

OpenSky  shopping web site runs cyber monday deals 2011With the Cyber Monday deals for 2011 expected to earn an estimated $1.2 Billion, an all time record according to data tracking firm ComScore, online retailers and specialty sites like newcomer OpenSky are expecting a big boost in revenue for the year.

Opensky is a new online shopping web site which specializes in selling products branded or desiged by celebrities. Like many online retailers, the site reportedly prepared carefully for the largest online shopping day of the year. The Cyber Monday deals, and the revenue that should follow, could make the difference between a very successful launch for the 6 month old company, or becoming just another niche shopping portal.

A recent article in the Chicago tribune indicated that, based on data from Shop.org’s eHoliday survey, 80% of all online retailers will be taking part by offer Cyber Monday deals for the 2011 holiday season.

According to the article, “We’re expecting our biggest day ever – we have 10,000 new people joining OpenSky every day and we expect sales to be five times our largest day,” said OpenSky Founder John Caplan. “We’ve made improvements to the site to make it run faster. We’ve added additional shipping options, gift wrapping, customer service staff and have all hands on deck from now through the holiday.”
