Pandora Internet Radio becomes Standard Feature Buick Vehicles

According to a statement from internet radio company Pandora (NYSE: P), their personalized radio service will become a standard feature in Buick’s 2012 line up. The service, which will be integrated with the Buick ‘IntelliLink’ in-car infotainment system, will be available in the Buick Verano, Regal and LaCrosse models. Pandora is expected to also be added to the Buick Enclave in the 2013 model.

According to Buick, its IntelliLink system can connect a driver’s smart phone to a touch screen display in the vehicle via either USB or Bluetooth. Creating a safer environment, the driver can access the touch screen to select music and other options using steering wheel mounted controls.

In a statement from Buick, Tony DiSalle, U.S. vice president of Buick Marketing said, “Today’s consumers expect more from their cars’ infotainment systems, and Buick IntelliLink is designed to meet and even exceed their expectations for connectivity and customization.” DiSalle went on to say that, “Pandora is an excellent example of the customizable entertainment options made available through Buick IntelliLink.”

According to Pandora executive vice president of business and corporate development Jessica Steel, “Fleet-wide integration of Pandora is one of the most expedient ways to expand Pandora listening in cars and we’re delighted that Buick is rapidly making personalized radio an option for their drivers.”
