With the rollover in the record setting Powerball lottery on Saturday, the current jackpot has now passed and estimated $500 million – or a half a Billion dollars. The new Powerball Jackpot is a record amount breaking the previous 2006 record by nearly $200 million.
With the next Powerball lottery drawing tonight, and all of the hype surrounding the record jackpot, ticket sale are surging and may drive the final jackpot numbers even higher. To win, players in the lottery must match 5 numbers, plus an extra powerball exactly. The winning powerball numbers from last Saturday were 22-32-37-44-50, with a Powerball number of 34.
To buy tickets for the Powerball Lottery, you must live or travel to one of the 42 states, plus the District of Columbia and the Virgin Islands, which currently participate in the combined Powerball lottery. Single powerball tickets sell for $2.
