The Powerball lottery jackpot for this Saturday, November 24th, was currently grown to an estimated $325 million. According to officials this Saturday’s jackpot in the powerball is a record high for the drawing, and is drawing a lot of attention and ticket sales.
The Powerball lottery was started in 1992 and has grown to now include the tickets sold in 42 states in the United State plus Washington DC and the U.S. Virgin Islands. The increased odds of the drawing, coupled with the volume of tickets sold across all of the states, has led to unparalleled jackpots.
Not taking taxes into account, if a single winner gets all of the numbers correct on Saturday, including the Powerball, they will be able to walk away with approximately $213 million if they choose the lump-sum cash option instead of payments over time.
Ticket prices for the powerball lottery were raised to $2 for a single play last January from the original price of $1. All that remains now is for someone to pick the winning numbers for the Powerball Saturday in order to get a substantial return on their $2 investment.
